This is a lovely rare pink Mahenge spinel, quite a rarity and a very sought after colour.
Under UV light the stone has an intense pink fluorescence, it is the presence of Chromium in the stone which causes this. Only pink spinel sourced from Burma and Tanzania have been known to have such a strong fluorescence.
Natural, untreated and custom cut this would be perfect to mount in jewellery or be a great addition to any collection.
