Grandidierite was first described in southern Madagascar in 1902. The mineral is very rare; gem-quality material of facetable size was almost unheard of in the market before the summer of 2015.
The pieces I have for sale are from my collection, purchased in 2015 alongside the GIAs verification of the material find in Madagascar.
This is an exceptionally rare lot of clean gem grade crystals cut into a custom cut rounds.
