An intriguing new gem from a fresh find, this is a very rare colour in diaspore and only discovered in January 2020 in Afghanistan. Supply of this material is extremely limited as it is only being mined artisanaly. The GIA have now verified the find in Afghanistan as genuine diaspore and the colour has been attributed to chromium and vanadium.
