This is the pinnacle of welo opal not only in size but with a rare precious opal body it also has a perfect honeycomb body resulting in stunning waves of bright colour.
Opals of this standard are rarely seen for sale as they are hidden away in private collections or museums.
Terms such as "museum grade" are used frequently about gems as a buzz word, this is poor practice and often the mark of a seller trying to fool buyers, hence I do not partake in such practices as it is cringeworthy. However in this case, this piece would truly be at home in a museum. Out of the tens of thousands of opals I have bought, cut, seen and sold in my life this piece is the finest I have seen.

The colours are varied and change according to the light source and angle. Natural & untreated with no use of water or oils.
